Concept art for a short I am planning to develop soon with a group of people hopefully.

Just starting doing some artwork for it today to start off~

Also I experimented with some ambient lighting to give the creature an eerie atmosphere. I might end up doing a 3D concept model of it soon.

This is not a complete piece, just something quick to figure out the atmosphere.

I had a problem with my last post so I am reposting this again~

Continuing the concept art for the same creature. I decided to show the design by changing the background shade and simply show the sketch as I am not sure how people prefer to see the shapes.

I couldn't decide the final design for the tail, reason I laid out different versions, but I personally prefer the second one.

Some background information about the creature: it represents a child's fear shaped in a creature who's anatomy is inspired by certain animals which are considered "vicious" or somehow elegant, such as bats, rats, cheetah, horse and sphinx cat (this one is less vicious hahah). It usually appears in a traumatised child's nightmare.

My favourite version but I am curious about someone else's opinion!

I am going to push the design further by creating a realistic portrait of this creature so the 3D modeling and texturing would be easier to visualise.

More concept art for the creature I'm working on! This time I tried to approach a more realistic "portrait" so when it needs to be sculpted and textured, it'll be easier to be used as a reference.

There are still lots of things to improve on this piece, including some lighting parts and certain details such as pores. I definitely used a ton of references for this one hahah

I also played with few lighting types so I can see how the creature looks in several atmospheres.

I didn't have much time to experiment today but I tried to consider giving the creature another eye colour just as a trial, even though I still prefer the orange version of it.

This eye colour was inspired by pond fish scales~

The second eye version was inspired by a diversity of passion fruits hahah, just thought of doing something different for this second experiment.

A sequence I am working on! Trying to improve my animation skills as I think it will help me with rigging quite a lot! I still have a lot to work on such as timing, trying to get there~~

Any feedback is more than welcomed!
