Seeing as im no longer a third year, new thread for personal works ill be doing in my spare time.

Started off with a environment peice based on this lovely conept

Im keeping most of the concepts idea - excluding the ship in the water, removing the flying creatures and replacing with birds, and having the flag possibly on fire and burning away. Also going to include some destruction maybe small cliff breakoff/avalanche on the front left of screen, the shot will be around 10 seconds long.

Main aim is too show off all my FX skills (crowd, flip(water), pyro, destruction, crowd, procedural modelling, procedrual shading.)

Im laying out in Maya but will be doing the final renders in Houdini i think. Due to the procedural shading setups i plan and have began making.

So here is a layout render with some mid res geo, some of which im going to improve on.

(I model procedurally using various techniques in Houdini, and plan on having displacement do some tasty things too)

Finally for now, heres a rock and procedural shader ive been putting together over the past day. Mixes a texture in with my procedurals and relatively happy with the current results, but think its gonna need some work espicially to work over multiple rock surfaces

any crit in general more than welcome as always

sidenote; i plan on collecting reference for these rocks or doing abit more research into type or rock etc before carrying on with the shader and adding more modelled detail as usual jumped the gun and got ahead of myself before checking ref

Sooo been working away on all sorts, mainly trying to learn new skills and master Houdini in general a lil more.

Decided to make a new rock tool for my reel as i dont have any decent tools, and recently learn alot so been applying that

(I want the tool to create rock geo, and then have a custom shader also)

This is a lookdev/turntable i did lastnight so far, any crit more than welcome!

Thanks guys

Hello guys,

was wondering if anyone has any good sites/resources for UE4's Cascade/Particle Editor or Realtime VFX in UE4 - videos or write ups are more than fine, ive found the obvious after hours of youtube/vimeo/googling but looking for some more in-depth stuff which seems to be lacking massively but i could just not be looking correctly

(Also have a few paid for tutorials ive already got through which were great but rather introductory and not much more advanced)

Thankyou in advance!
