Thanks a lot! XD

Heres how my shark currently stands (zbrush screenshot). It hasn't changed much since I last showed it. Want to get this one out of the way completely today so id really appreciate crit. Not really aiming too high with this one as I dont have the time.

Your work is looking really great joe!

My thought's for the turn around are less spins but slower. Also the shark textures are a bit soft there is quite a harsh transition between the top and bottom half IRL. And the nose could come to a harder point. Obviously very close to deadlines now but your work will do great without these changes :D

Keep it going!

Thanks a lot Ollie. Yeah the turnaround is a bit fast! unfortunately one of the only things I cant change is the speed! The only way I could slow it down is to lower the fps and its at 25 currently. I can give it less turns though! At the moment its 2 turns then a transition so maybe ill just reduce it to 1 turn then a transition.

Great points about the shark too. Ill edit that now.

Thanks for the Crit!

OOOOk Heres how the shark now stands. Its not great I know, originally i had modelled some ground for it but It looked awful so I've gone with a deep water moodier kinda thing. Obviously its not  looking so great but I really needed this one done quick. Crit is appreciated. :)

Pod racer engine turn arounds are nice - your specular on your roughened/dirtied up version could do with more roughness personally and a bit of tweaking but otherwise great stuff man, - Shark looks good - could do with some maybe general bump for the sharks skin and variation if you dont already, and maybe add some more to that render (bubbles/other elements) or maybe pick slightly more interesting plate but its looking nice at that camera angle so maybe keep working into this one

Thanks a lot for the crit! :) Yeah I noticed the how sharp the reflections were in the turnaround but only about halfway though the render. Its pretty annoying and I intended to fix it but at this point I wouldn't have time to re-render it anyway. Its because when I was making my oily shader I just kinda thought "hey oil is shiny" and cranked up the sharpness a bit, maybe it was my render scene i was testing it in but I guess i didn't realize how high id cranked it until it was spinning. A good reason to rely less on studio lighting for tests maybe? Thanks for the crit on the shark. There is a skin bump from zbrush in there but its not really showing. I was also thinking of dirtying up the lense and such and maybe adding some plankton or something?

Im actually quite surprised to say that I handed in on time. It was starting to look like I wouldn't but i managed to cut enough corners and I did it! :D Im going to post my finished works here, I had much bigger plans for them but I guess I was just being too ambitious given the time frame (or maybe i was too slow lol). Thanks for all the crit everyone. It really did help immensely! :)

All this work is incredible! My only comment on the reel is that your camera could be a bit closer up for the tron bike, because it's a bit hard to see all the detail you've put in from that far back. Really love all the attention to detail though!

Nice work! so much spinning though in your cgp showreel makes you feel a bit sick though. Id say shorten it down with less spins if you plan on using it but otherwise its pretty decent  :D

Your showreel is absolutely amazing man :D The only thing I would change is how fast everything is spinning, we can't see the details because its a bit fast :)

Lovely job man, I'd agree on saying slow down the rotating models, it didn't give you enough time to look at the details when you pause the video. It will also cut down on the length too. A recruiter has only a short amount of time to look at a reel, so make it short, sweet and good to look at. Also rotate the lighting around the model itself, it's too see how the lighting effects the geometry too.

Thanks a lot guys! Issue with the showreel was that it needed to render QUICK so I had to either make it spin a bit fast or make it really low fps. I decided to make it spin a bit fast but also a bit longer (woops XD). If I had more time I would've done nice slow turns. :/ I'll probably re-render some of it before I put it anywhere. I'll be able to move the camera closer to the tron bike too then. :) If anyone has any super secret trick about how to make 12 fps look like 24 id love you forever.

That sounds like a really awesome Idea! If I re-render my pod racer ill definitely do that. :)

Heres a random render for no reason.

Im going to be working more on the pod racer over the reading week. I might just make a scene for it. Put it in some kind of garage being worked on maybe. Might get rid of the pod though, just make it about the engine.
