Nice Improvements. Might be cool to add some fingerprints. Could also add dust on buttons that are hardly used.

Looks cool but I'm struggling to believe the smudge placement.

The on/off buttons would probably be the most smudged compared to random edges.

Just because something is black doesn't mean it can't have smudges either. Smudges don't multiply by the colour underneath. They're on top.

I think you need to start either previewing these in Toolbag, or making a small scene in UE4 with the kind of lighting you're going for, so you can preview the materials in there. Substance painter has this really frustrating ability to wash things out with overblown fresnel.

Here's some of the assets in UE4, lighting is obviously temporary and terrible, any crit as always is good.

66tris on the VCR Player, 335 on the monitor, 476 on the keyboard and 20 on the book, unfortunately 676 on the bowl.

Duvet's looking nice. The lamp still looks a bit plain, even if it's all black I'd expect different parts to be different materials (painted metal, black shiny plastic, black matte plastic etc). Without more roughness variation it's gonna read as a generic tiling grunge material. I'd also consider adding finger print marks to the head as if it had been adjusted. Have you got any ref for this object? The stand is very thin and just sorta sits on the base, which I find odd. If it's in the ref, fair, but I'd probabaly add some kind of circular fixture at the base of the wire so it looks a bit sturdier.

For your PC asset I feel like it's missing general wear and tear. Scratches and dents and the like. That old gray plastic/metal casing they used to use really picks up dirt in a gray-yellowish nasty way, as seen here:

It would be nice to see some of that I reckon. The setup also does need a tower and wiring, it's just a screen and keyboard at the moment and no one's gonna get anywhere with that lol.

hope this helps!

Currently messing with the lamp, stem is now metal, adding some more fingerprints is also on the table, the ref I have is in the first post, its in the bottom right of the full room image.

I agree with the wear and tear comment, probably not as much as the reference supplied due to it belonging to a hacker. a monitor from 1999 in the same year and I would have thought well looked after considering this, I have added finger prints etc and gunk to the screen, I will also look at scratch marks and some yellowing however. Tower is coming up soon, hidden in my references so I'm going to have some fun improvising.

Sorry didn't see the ref on the last page, I'm a lazy bum. Given how darkly lit the room is, it's probably one of those times where you'll have to work around the reference a lot, as most of the details on these objects are indiscernible in the film or obscured by other objects.

Would be nice just to throw an unreal default character in just to make sure everything looks to scale, I'm sure it already is but it generally helps to visualize it better.

More room, using modular pieces and triplanar projection for the walls, getting some shading issues on them, bench, mini fridge, texture work on some assets.

Looks pretty sweet, only thing I would say is be careful because the wall texture doesnt seem to be seamless right now

Yeah, the projection is fine its a light baking issue with the modular pieces, I'm waiting till we're taught lighting to fix it, I think that starts next week, for now... Assets
